Hehunts: I just bought one of these 22-250's on the used market about 20 days ago and I have been just thrilled with how well it shoots!
My Rifle is a stainless heavy barreled Rifle with fluted barrel and the flutes on mine are blackened.
My Rifle has the green marksman style factory stock whereas some of my other Remington VSSF models have black stocks of the same design.
My Rifle (stock) fits me to a "T" and again it shoots very well indeed.
The trigger on mine is crisp and light and will do me perfect when Colony Varmint Hunting.
In a few days I am taking it on a Coyote/Wolf Hunt.
I did have my bore inspection tool along when I came across this Rifle in a gunshop and inspected the bore, leades of the rifling and the chamber very carefully. All were perfect and I expect to get lots of life out of this gun.
My advice to you is if you run across a used Remington 700 VSSF in 22-250 caliber don't dismiss it but examine it carefully and hopefully you will get a "great price" like I did on mine.
I know these models, when new, were/are "pricey"!
Good luck to you in your search.

I have a 223 vssf II and it shoots lights out. I have a jewell trigger on mine and a different stock, although I do have the original parts. Good luck in your search, they really are fine shooters. happy new year

I've been fortunate enough to get the original vssf in a 220 swift and a sendero in a 25/06 but haven't had a chance to shoot either one yet but do have a sendero sf11 in a 300 win mag it shoots really good. Really wanting to try to shoot some coyotes with the swift

Peaceman: Pardon my slow reply, I did not see your inquiry til just now.
My Remington 700 VSSF in 22-250 Remington was price tagged at $799.00 - but again this is a mint and fired very little example.
I got mine a little cheaper than that asking price due to some wheeling and dealing on my part.
I often GASP at the asking prices for NEW Remington 700 Senderos and VSSF's when I see them on stores shelves... BUT, they sell???
I don't buy many (any?) new Remingtons anymore - I carefully shop for them on the used market these days and I always have my bore inspection tool along with me when doing so to assess round count.
Good luck on that 220 Swift - I have two Remington 700 VSSF's in 220 Swift and one Remington 700 "Sendero" in 220 Swift as well.
They all shoot VERY well indeed.
I am trying to recall for certain but I am sure I bought all three of those Rifles on the used market (one for sure was from a Varminting friend), and I have long since forgotten what I paid for them.
Hope this helps - bottom line Remington 700 heavy barrels in 220 Swift shoot WELL+.
