I can't be sorry for knowing what a Bear looks like.

Have yet to see one wearing lip gloss, while playing a Banjo, though the search do continue.

Bears are typically misrepresented in Taxidermy and that's exhibit A.......................

Something about bears and cats if the face is not done just right it it takes away from the whole mount. I won't go so far as saying this bear looks like crap but I have seen way better. Close the mouth put them on all fours with no goofy facial expression and you have a mount that looks good.

The taxidermy job may not be great, but it is too bad when a guy posts a pic of "one of the greatest aventures" of his life and then thinks he's getting made fun of.

I know the critique on the mount wasn't intended to be a personal slam, but my money says that is how he took it. His low post count is likely an indication he is not well versed in dealing with language of Stickedness.................

Brownies stand up only to look over the alders or high grass.
I had my 10 footer mounted in a standing position.
As a kid growing up I was always in awe of those giant standing bears that towered over me.
At the time I took my bear I really didn't have a lot of floor space for a "horizontal" bear.
I told my taxidermist that I didn't want the arms raised up or an extreme snarl on the face, just standing and looking off in the distance with a gaping mouth, not a RADICAL SNARL..
More of a just checking the wind type of pose.
I hear guys rag on standing bears all the time.
They definatley do stand up, but not in an agressive posture.
I am a real stickler for taxidermy, but taxidermy like all art is in the eye of the beholder.

On the other hand this mount in very very nice indeed!

I have both lifesized standing and flat footed Bears,as well as shoulder mounts.

None wear lipstick or play the banjo...................
