In the process of picking up a Pro Hunter stainless carbine and looking to get rings for it. I know they take A-bolt bases and I'm planning on going with Talley Lightweights. Will I have issues with bolt clearance going with Lows when mounting a Kahles AH 2-7x36 (occular size around 43mm/1.69")? Would really rather not step up to mediums...

Is there anyone out there doing work on Prohunter bolt handles to negate the clearance issues?

A Swarovski Z3 3-10x42 requires medium Talley's for the bolt handle to clear the ocular. Objective clearance is not an issue and the mounting height was reasonable with the 42mm objective. Compare the Swaro dimensions to your Kahles and you will have your answer on fit.

Personally, I would get a bigger scope to make use of the dead space you'll have between the barrel and objective using a 36mm objective. Switching a tactical style Scout bolt handle might help reduce height if you don't want to use a bigger scope. The 'knuckle' on the butter-knife style handle is what creates the need for more height.
