My Brux bbl arrived today its 27" long,is there enough for a gunsmith to complete it 26" ? Also it's a .224 8"twist . It will be a 22/250 ,I intend to shoot 60-75gr bullets. Will gunsmith have to have a special reamer ? I don't want to turn any necks

It could finish at 26" but might end up with a rather long shank. As far as a reamer I guess that's gonna depend on what oal you want to run but you shouldn't have a problem having it throated for the bullets you intend to shoot. I'd discuss it with the gunsmith you choose before any work is started.

I would suggest you construct a few dummies, along with 2-3 loose bullets and a couple empty, sized cases along with the parts so the 'smith can ensure they'll chamber.. FWIW.

FWThe smith wants me to bring him some dummy rounds of the bullets i want to shoot. In the Hornady book it list 2.350 for C.O.L of 55g and 60 gr V-Max bullet . 2.390 for 68gr BTHP and 2.490 for 75gr A-Max. Isn't there a happy medium he can throat it for this bullet range ? 22/250 8" twist ..... IW.

I'd throat it for whatever bullet your going to shoot the most. Book col is just a guideline. Load some dummy rounds and do some measuring of where the ogives are and go from there.

Not sure what the throat of a .223 Wilde reamer looks like (should be easy to find a print), but it seems to be fairly tolerant of seating length on the 55 grain varmint bullets. Loaded to mag. length of 2.260", they shoot very well in an 8" twist, with considerable jump.
Mine loads the 75 Berger to 2.500" OAL with the bullet slightly into the lands. Sorry I don't have any Amax's to test their OAL to the lands. I would expect their OAL to be somewhat shorter, probably at least 0.050".
The .223 is ~0.15" shorter than the .22-250, so one would expect OAL to be that much longer with similar bullets, in order to avoid the bullets taking up powder space.
