Does anyone have any data for this cartridge it's for a 1942 pre 64 model 70 with a 26 inch barrel? 180 grain bullet.
I hope to use imr 7828 or one of the new imr 4955 or 7977 powders, thanks

300 WSM data is a pretty good source.

71gr RL-22
CCI-250 Primers
180gr TTSX or Nosler Partition
I have the exact same rifle (1941)

The data in the Nosler book is woefully light loaded.

A good principle to guide me through life: “This is all I have come to expect, standard lackluster performance. Trust nothing, believe no one and realize it will only get worse…”

I have an old 1946 year model M-70 300 H&H, it's preferred load by far is:

WW Brass
220 gr Partition
68.5 gr H-4831
CCI-250 or Fed 215 primer
Col 3.575"
Vel, an easy 2700 fps.

I have went back to this load using an old Lyman receiver peep sight, with the Lyman or a Weaver 4-12 scope, this load has shot through every deer and pig I've used it on, even at some unbelievable angles.

Not to destructive on the eating parts, and the ones that ran at bit left blood trails Roy Orbison could follow.

You can't go wrong with 4350 for <180 gr bullets and 4831 for 180+. Magnum primers required. 300 WM or WSM loads are a good place to start.

No shortage of tested loads her:

I load 70 gr H4831 mostly with 200 gr Partitions and sometimes 200 gr Accubonds in two 300 H&H's (one is a pre-64 M70).

If you would like some pressure tested loads Hodgdon has the 300 H&H listed in the load data. Pretty good velocity too from a 24" barrel.
