Some species like paddle-fish can only be caught that way. We snag menhaden for bait by snagging. It might be allowed for subsistence fishing by residents but to brag about it is pretty low rent. I've only done it one time and it worked out ok, but it was a used and somewhat abused rifle that was shooting poorly so I wasn't too worried. A new rifle would give me pause, though obviously many here do it with success.

I've had numerous 30-06's that did well with everything from 125's to 220's. How is it the same .243 can't shoot both 80's and 105's very well?
