Thanks for the 28 Nosler article. Very well written.
I bought three 7mm RM a while back. Planning on rebarreling. One was going to be a Ruger 416. One stay as 7 mm RM and the other?
But now am considering rechambering the 26" barreled (new) to 28 Nosler.
One of my first rifles was a 264 and with exception of the 140 grain screw machine bullets from Nosler I was extremely dissatisfied with bullet performance. Big gaping entrance holes on game was unpleasant.
Your article has caused me to rethink my stubborn opinion on high velocity rifles.
I know the cartridge is more than needed for coyotes, but that'll be what I'm after. Long range coyotes.

I prefer classic.

Bugger,

Glad you liked the article.

One thing's for certain: High-BC 7mm bullets started fast don't drift much in the wind!

Yes, very well done. An objective article that stuck to the facts and didn't make exorbitant claims.

Where might I find this article, is it in a Rifle or Handloader mag ?
Being both an avid JB reader and a 28 Nosler owner, this is a must read...

I found the article, Thank-you for a good read Mr. Barsness.
My 28 has only made a couple range trips since breaking-in but it seems to prefer RL 22 and 25 to the other powders tried.
So far its favourite bullet is the 160 Accubond, does not seem to like the 175 Hornady.
I intend to try some other brands of 175 gr. bullets like for instance the Nosler Partition which all my other 7MM caliber rifles shot well.
Brass life seems to be great, Thank Goodness because on this side of the Fence ( British Columbia ) its about $4.00 a pop (Canadian money ).
Again, Thank-you Sir and keep up the good work...

Interesting piece, especially as I've never seen a round.

I wonder how long it'll take for someone to neck down some of that brass to 6mm and .224?
