I know that nobody on here ever misses their target and kills a tree, fence or other object, but I have something that can help you out "if" you do. After a couple of years of development and field research, I invented and manufactured a device that safely, easily and quickly extracts broadheads from trees, stumps...limbs and all kinds of stuff. It is precision machined on state of the art CNC machines out of stainless steel (all the working parts) with a black anodized aluminum body. This device will not break and works so well, my kids love using it (yes I miss the target on occassion) They retail for $39 plus $5 for shipping and handling. For Campfire members, I will eat the shipping and tax, so your cost is $39. Simply thread the extractor onto the broadhead and twist the handle. The extractor slowly pulls the broadhead from the source damage free and ready to reuse. With the cost of broadheads now days, digging them or cutting them out of trees isn't an option and you sure don't want to leave them. They make great Christmas gifts for the archer in your family. Good deal. How does it work on McKenzie targets??

Ummm...well, if you are shooting McKenzie targets with broadheads, I think you are SOL If you are shooting field points, unscrew your arrow and don't worry about it. Flinch

Does it work if your broadhead stops inches into the tree. Or do you you have to expose the threads?

If you have problems removing arrows from foam targets spray your arrows with dry silicone helps allot. I also do this when hunting in the snow keeps the ice from sticking to your arrows.

The threads need to be exposed so that the device has something to pull with. If you have a bow that will shoot an arrow "inches" into a tree (not a dead rotted stump), I would love to see it If the wood is really soft, a REALLY fast bow will drive one in about an inch and a half, but usually the threads are still exposed. If not, you can shave a bit of the bark off with a pocket knife until the threads are exposed. If the arrow is driven deeply into a tree, which I haven't been able to do yet, you can't unscrew the arrow from the broadhead. The only way to get them out is to saw them out, or saw them out enough to be able to expose the threads. Pine seems to be the softest wood I have found and even with a fast bow at point blank range with very small broadheads, I can still get them out easily. I hope that answers your question. Flinch

yes it does thanks. I have sunk some broadheads deep into alder trees before, not to deep that you could not spin the arrow off but just deep enough you would have to carve the tree a bit.

So.....how many ya want? The nose of the device is smaller than an arrow shaft and is designed to "reach in" and grab onto the threads. Believe me, a lot of field research and testing went into this unit long before I started marketing it. It is made right and made to my stringent standards. They are all tested before leaving the store. Flinch

Remember the pic on the 'net a couple years ago of the guy who got bowshot in the noggin? Perhaps there's a market for this in emergency rooms in the south and midwest ...
