I won't argue with you regarding the quality of European shotguns. The Spanish guns are the best bargain among the European guns, in general, although the buyer should probably educate himself prior to buying. Terry Wieland's book Spanish Best is a great resource in that regard. I was thinking that hat should read Uggie.  I have been shooting their boxlocks since the early 80's and own a handful. I will bring my Uggie slug gun to the hog hunt. Way back when I was chasing a particular 20 bore sidelock that a shop in Midland had. I had multiple exchanges with Terry who ultimately steered me away from the purchase. Correct identification and keen eye, my friend!! Of course, you've seen it before: I brought it to the Texas "hog hunt" last Mmarch.

Hatari ... Yes, Weiland's book is dangerous! I'm glad you & Pugs & Jorge had a good hunt, wish I could have joined you! As for my Ugartechea, it's a lovely little 20 gauge and the first of that bore I've owned, being a confirmed 12-bore man. The fellow who sold it to me ya e me a hat from his store gave me an ugly hat that says "Cabela's". I prefer this other hat, procured for me by The Redhead at the DSC show a few weeks ago. Funny how the snooty folks at the English gun displays get all friendly-like when a good-looking woman in a fur coat smiles at them...

Thanks for the pictures, Doc. Ralph told me about the buck but numbers don't do him justice. I'm glad to hear the little Gyp is working out. When he got her, I told him I hope she turned out great since I've never seen one of the Continental breeds worth hauling home.
