I had one in .270, good rifle lived up to the accuracy claims of T/C. I thought the bolt handle was a little small and could be hard to manipulate with gloves. I wouldn't hesitate to give another one a try.

I've had 2 of them. Great rifles. My 22-250 was sub moa with factory Hornady sst's. I bought a 243 and am shooting moa with Hornady American Whitetail ammo. That's hard to beat for under $400.

My only experience with the TC Venture was with a 7mm/08 in the weathershield finish.
I let it go in a trade for something I felt like I needed worse, but I would not hesitate to own another. Accuracy was very good with the first load I tried and I could not help but think that it was the long gun equivalent of the Glock pistol.
Not all together pretty, but highly functional and reliable.

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

One of my buddies got rid of his savage rifles and replaced them with TC Ventures and he loves them. He also thought he would try one of the Ruger RAR's and didn't like it. He's decided to just use the Ventures for now. He's a cheap rifle connoisseur....... One thing I can say about them, is they are pretty accurate and easy to load for.. If I were to buy one, it would be the weathershield model...
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I have a 708.... it might just be my most accurate factory rifle. I have a lot of testing left to do but my first few loads through it were shooting better than I was....dang thing was putting bullet hole on bullet hole with more than one load.

My 243 win in the Venture is grouping 95 SST hornady bullets in front of H4831sc reloads under an inch at 100 yards. It puts 60 grain hp Sierra bullet in groups averaging .65 at 100 yards. Very good trigger. It did take some time getting used to the lower Bolt handle angle when working the bolt. It functions perfectly just at a lower height. The only thing I would change is the magazine capacity. The clip fits correctly and is easy to insert but only carries 3 shells. The rifle feels very good and handles like a rifle lighter than its actual weight.

If I was to buy one witch I'm really leaning towards over the Savage axis will be in 22-250 the Savage axis I had great luck with they are cheap but the feel cheap but they don't lack as far as accuracy and reliability but the tc seems a little better built for about same price and for me they look better and with the different rifleings I don't think u could go wrong

Although they are both as ugly, the TC is a much better rifle than the Axis.

The above post is one of the most magnificent run on sentences I've seen posted in 2016. Now, that is out of the way. You are right. The savage axis is cheap. It does feel cheap. They are accurate, however. The TC Venture seems to be a more solid rifle, and although it is more or less a plastic stock too, it is more stable by far than the savage axis.

I own a WS fluted in 6.5x284 and its a 3/4" gun with 140/Bergers or Nosler BT's all day long. A bud has a 6.5, 308 and 338 and they all shoot bugholes. If you catch the $75 rebate you can get a blued one for a little over $250. Good luck!
