This fall I was fortunate enough to harvest an elk with my 4 yr old Son right by my side, my friend had a antelope blind setup that had deer and elk coming into it as well. My Son was begging me to take him out and my buddy said we could sit his blind so figured we'd give it a shot. It couldnt of turned out any better with this bull coming into 18 yards and my boy being able to watch it all. Going to be hard to top this experience, I doubt I will top this until I'm able to watch him harvest his first animal! Hope you enjoy the video!!

That is freakin awesome! Keep it up brother and he'll be slaying critters very shortly!

Thanks for sharing. Those pictures tell it all! Congrats.

Man that is fantastic! It brings back so many great memories from when mine were that young, you will have a partner for life! BE PROUD!

Haha yeah it made me cringe when I heard that!! Probably won't ever try calling again without a reed in my mouth, we where packing up when the bull came in so I had my reed out and was sharing a granola bar with my boy

Very neat experience for both of you. My four year old son went rifle elk hunting with us last October but he stayed around camp and had a great time. I can't wait until he can go into the field with me.

Dude ... you pegged the meter that time. Congratulations! I'm happy for that lad. He'll never forget that!

Unreal! Loved that hunt! So proud for you and your son. Our son was stuck to my side like Velcro in the field from the time he was 18 months old. I took him on his first hunt with me when he was 3 months old. Admittedly, my wife thought I had absolutely lost my mind, but I bundled him up and got him in a ground blind one warm October afternoon and we saw deer. It was important to me to get him out there ASAP I suppose, but it paid off...got a great 28 year old son, killed his first deer at 8 years old and now he and his wife have blessed us with a beautiful 4 month old future hunter. Life's a circle....it'll start again this September!

So proud for you and my sincerest congrats on a great job.

Thanks everyone for the kind words, I started taking him bear hunting with me when he was 8 months old and that's probably his favorite animal to hunt. My biggest struggle now is I have 2 boys and can't carry them both

There's nothing like spending time with your son. I had my boys with me many years before they were able to hunt themselves. Before you know it, they will be showing you how to do it...
