I have 2 different .30-06 loads with Big Game that both shoot well- the 130 TTSX for deer, and the 168 TTSX for baited bear hunts. Since Big Game is not available, I suspect other shooters have good loads for these bullets in .30-06 using other powders that are more obtainable.

What else has worked well? I realize that the 130 may need a different powder than the 168, but that's OK.

My 06 likes 56.5 gr RL15 & the 130 TSX.

Hunter or RL19 are my propellants of choice for 165/8s in the 06.

I run mostly H414 with 165/168 grain bullets in my 06's. I have not had much luck with 4350 powders. Between these two you should be able to find a decent load! Old timers I know swear by IMR 4064 with 168 bullets, they used this combo for target matches.

IMR4320 works well in the -06 with lighter bullets. Meters well.

I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all.

I use hunter powder in my 30-06, 60.6 grains in a Norma case Fed 215 Barnes 168 T-TSX, MV 2965fps. groups nice in my rifle.

I have a 24 inch Lilja 1-11 twist 3 grove.

Good luck.

A 30-06 is an efficient powder incinerator. So many powders work very well in the '06. Generally, if a rifle won,t shoot a 165-168 grain projectile accurately, there are more problems than can be fixed with just a powder change.

Mine shoots IMR4350 well, and has for years. Lately I have been using H414 almost exclusively with that weight with good velocity and great accuracy.

Never used any as light as 130 grains, but with 150s, H4895 does a good job as does IMR3031. And so does IMR4350. RL19 WORKS GOOD IN 150 and 168 grainers.

I've still got Big Game, so do you mind sharing your 130TTSX load?

Hard to beat either of the 4895's with lighter bullets, and IMR4350 with 165-168's.

My 130 gr TTSX load is 62 gr Big Game, WW case, Fed 219 primer, COL 3.330". This is a max load in Barnes data, so start lower. I have not chronoed it and did not get a shot at a deer with it.

RL15 works great in both my 06's with 150's. Going to try RL17 also.

I prefer classic.

I have been looking for Big Game for almost two years. I have noticed some Ramshot powders showing up in the last couple of weeks. I am hoping Big Game will be back soon.

My '06s have all liked Re15 with 150s and Re19, IMR4350, and especially H4350 with 165-168 grain bullets.

My load search with new 06s starts and ends with H4350 and the 168 grain TTSX. That combo is always good for me and my rifles. Top accuracy and velocity.

Your results may vary...

50gr of IMR4064 and 168 TSX shot 1in @ 200 yards Tikka T3 30-06 but switched IMR4064 to Big Game because it was 150 fps faster with reasonable accuracy in my Forbes 30-06.

IMR4350 has been the powder I always come back to in 06. Like peas and carrots.
