After traveling a bunch the past few days, hopefully I can get some projects knocked out. I picked up some Speer 150 gr .310 softpoints, will give them a whirl in the #1 7.62x39

Elusive Wildlife also delivered my XL252, seems a big, beefy unit, with everything well made. smile

The Hog hunt is going to be great. I think we will have some fun.

The last few Days have been taken up with figuring out why I hell I keep messing up somewhere between sizing and seating dies. The chamber on this sharps is tight. Things have to be perfect for things to work.

What I'm looking to do is load, place in chamber and shoot.
Lots of variables can happen.

Anyway. Got to the point I sized 9 pieces of brass, Expanded, placed primers, dropped powder, placed a wad, compressed powder, then seated bullet without a crimp but the bullet wouldn't fall out. Went between sizing and fire formed brass. They all fit in chamber. cool
Heck of a learning curve. I want 50 rounds to take on this hunt. Some in the group may want to shoot a Sharps for the first time. I will have 50 if any want to shoot it at the range.
Friday to the range to shoot 20 or so, see where they hit.

Then next week is any shopping for stuff to bring and get myself somewhat ready. Looking forward to the trip.

Just sighted in the old 7Mag with the new scope. Cant say I am sold on the 2.5-8x36 Leupold. On 8 power it tapped my nose a couple of times. 6 power is were I will hunt it but eye relief is less than on my 6x42's. I knew this but tried it anyway. May put it on my Faux Ti after this hunt and put my old reliable 6x42 on the 7mag. Anyways the 7mag is ready to take on a hog. Im so ready to hit the road for this hunt.

Gettin close, isn't it. Still needing to replenish reloads for this warhorse in 30WCF since it got a whiff of LeverRevolution. Light and eyesight permitting, plan to kill.

Gone round and round on a backup/scoped rifle. Either the Swedish Pimple, being a safe bet, or else this other swede cobbled with a 7x56 meopta monstrosity. Was intended for coyote this winter, Big Bottom Girl, but hadn't gotten her out. This would be as good a test run as any in the dawn/twilight. Big might prove beautiful, or might prove "just big", we'll see.

The Swedish Pimple. Big Bottom Girl wouldn't pose for the camera.

It's their xl252 light, which is quite powerful, and comes with a dimmer switch. This kit includes the light, gun light mount, switches, and batteries/charger. I just ordered one.

That's the light I bought and arrived the other day, but haven't even taken it out of the box yet. I think I screwed up though, I didn't get the dimmer switch. It's got to be better than the light I had last year.
