I don't have one, but am tempted. I have an Axis, originally in 243, which shot very nicely. I bought a 250 Savage pre-chambered barrel from Midway and now it is a 250 Savage. It shoots quite nicely as a 250. I wonder if they are available in 6.5 Creedmore or are hard to find. If they made the Axis in 260 it would be a good choice as the magazine length is 3" and you would have room for long bullets.

Haven't shot an Axis in 6.5 Creedmoor, but have shot Axis rifles in several chamberings, and a different model Savage bolt in 6.5 Creedmoor, and all have been very accurate.

All three of you have outed yourselves as not true believers in the 6.5 Creedmoor, having referred to it by its real name instead of utilizing what amounts to the secret handshake of the devoted followers - using the cutesy-wootsey "Creed".

Thanks There was one on GB recently that ended up selling for $370 shipped. At that price, the RAR-Predator looks like a better deal, since they are proven accurate. If Green Mountain would made a run of Savage 110 spec barrel in the Creed, one of them and a $250 Marlin XS7 from CDNN would go together like V8 and Bud.

5sdad,
On the other hand, I spelled Creedmoor correctly:-)
Oh, and I do own one!

I acquired a take off barrel from a Savage in 6.5 "Creed". I spun it onto a Marlin XS7. My plans were to make it a 260 AI barrel. However, with all the hub-ub about the Creed, I might check headspace and shoot it. I haven't shot it because I believe in the Don't Shoot the Donor philosophy. I recently acquired a Stevens in 243 that could easily become the 260 AI.

I bought a Savage 11 barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor from Savage a couple of years ago and spun it on a Marlin XS7. It shoots fine, but not quite as good as my RAR-Predators or Vanguard2s. Out of five rifles in 6.5 Creedmoor, it is the lightest and shoots MOAish with 120 grain Hornady AMax factory ammo, but the other four rifles shoot sub-MOA with about anything you feed them.

My wife and I both have Savage Axis in 223. Both shoot very well with 27 gr. TAC and a 40 gr Sierra Blitzking. These rifles have become our go to rifles for the dog towns. There is a lot of accuracy for a very little money in these rifles. I will try one in 6.5 Creedmoor just because.

I hate the Axis stock ergs, so unless I find one in 6.5 Creed priced as cheap as zucchinis in Lake Wobegon, I'll stick with the RAR-Predators.

FWIW, SAS sent me a PM and said that he has 25 Howa 1500 Lightnings on order for $330! If you're looking to try the 6.5 Creedmoor, this might be a way to get your feet wet for about $360 shipped and insured to your favorite FFL.

Well I have one in 223 and it shoots lights out with the factory Hornady 60gr interlocks. And it has quite a bit of room in the mag to load longer projectiles. So wondering if the "creed" version has that spare room in the magazine also? Saw them listed on Richie's website for $329.
