That said.....Due to asstells vast (45 yrs) firearms experience, I've decided to follow his sage advice. I got a new scope level tonight. After I correctly install it, and do a testing run in the morning, I'll post the test results and pics right here on this very thread tomorrow. As 'stick would say, film at 11........

"Vast" didn't happen all at once, as you should know. Only stating my exposure to catastrophic events has been longer than some others.

Has the rifle in question ever seen handloads or was the rifle bought used?

In long range shooting the idea is to control or eliminate variables , guess that goes for any shooting, the level will allow you to quantify and therefore control that variable. It being cant.
All depends how far you want to take it, as long as it remains interesting and fun.

You are one of the stupidest SOBs I've had the misfortune to encounter. No one said anything about being "OK with it."

Don pushed it as far as anybody but a stupid SOB like you would have. He got a new rifle. A new box of ammo from Hornady is hardly worth even your time.

His only recourse at that point would be to file a lawsuit. Anybody but the stupidest SOB on this thread (and that's saying something) ((which is you, by the way)) would know that the only way it makes sense to file a lawsuit is when you have damages that you can prove.

Huntsman had no damages beyond some band-aids. His rifle blew up and he got a new one. That schnoz of his has taken worse beatings more than once. Anyone but the stupidest SOB on this thread would know that it would cost him more to file this lawsuit than he could possibly hope to recover, and that is IF he could persuade a lawyer to take this "case," which he couldn't because 33% of the cost of some bandaids does not interest most lawyers. But I concede, maybe it does in your genome.

Hardly takes a teacher to school you. A first-grader could do it.

This wasn't even a tough line of questioning and you boys tipped your hand and got defensive.

Ain't hard to tell what's what/who's who around here FredIII. You and Take a Knee can do all the weenie rubbing you guys want.

Funny thing is the copy cat spelling mannerisms coined by Stick/Boxer that you guys all "have" to use. You are being played. Like a Fücking Fïddle! And it is Hįlarious! The way you play into it is unbelievable, yet perfect. And it is by design. It's so obvious, yet you are oblivious. And your inability to comprehend it, is what makes it so funny.

Screw you! I'm voting for Trump again!

That's OK with me, you don't have enuff 'future' left to fully enjoy a Ruger anyway.....

By the way, I am a 'gun crank on a forum like this', and I've bought, uhh let's see, rugers UL in 7/08, a UL in 204, a 77 sporter in 17 fireball, a piston AR, a 1911, a 77/17 Hornet, a 77/22, an american predator, a hawkeye predator, a RPR (all 3 in 6.5), and these are just since I shot off my nose and developed a flinch.

As far as Hornady goes, I reckon I'm a regular Hornady whore. 1000 rds of 204 brass, a case or more, of 204 factory loads, a few cases of 17 hornet stuff, a bazillion 32, 40, 50, 53, 55 vmaxs, almost as many 68 hps, 75 amaxs. 1500 140 6.5 amaxs, 5000 20 grain vmaxs, 1000 25 vmaxs in 17. And there's more..... But again, this is just stuff after the blowup.

Does that mean I ain't a gun crank after all?....
