Home last night, and crashed. First opportunity to check in.

As others have said: Thank you Dan. You are a prince among men for organizing this, and a hell of a good cook. Thank you, Roger, for the "swimps." They were outstanding.

What a pleasure to see you guys again. And a couple of new friends, too. Ranger, your family is delightful. Carl, congratulations again and here's to your continued success in your field.

I've got to say, the weather was a challenge, but since I'm not one of the guys that got his truck stuck axle-deep in the mud, I coped pretty well, I thought. At least dehydration was never a problem.

I love Texas. I have a great time every time I go.

Just got home. 1:30 am here, so just a short list of things learned on the trip:

1) Not all deer run from pigs.
2) Drinking beer all day, you get drunk. Drinking Coors all day, gets you "imbibed".
3) Never holler "Whoa" in a tight spot or take a new-to-you-rifle hunting.
4) Regarding airline travel - it helps a speedy return, when:

- you take your time in the aile to pack and repack your suitcase or do yoga stretches upon boarding.

- you take the time to visit the third thrift shop, ot get another burger, while the boarding crew is on their seventheen "last" call for the flight to Casa Blanca.

- you complain about the rectangular wire things standing in the way (the go/no go gauges for carry on luggage) and then try to benchpress your case into the overhead bins.

5)Regarding coming home - to have left your keys behind, so you find yourself burglaring your own home, only to be later be told by the wife, who is happy to have you back but is away herself, that she left a key out for you.

Happy times.

Pics in due course.

I have to say, that Tom has done a fine job of summing my feelings as well. Texas is a home away from home for me.

This was my 4th pig. There's nothing like an ice cold Bud Light after a good day hunting.

From left to right, Me, Roof, and 7mmMato. This was the night that our guides rack on the back of his truck broke. Sandcritter, 7mmMato and I each killed 1 pig and Roof killed 2. When he picked up me and Sandcritter, Mato already had his pig on the rack. Sandcritter killed a sow that probably weighed 200 lbs. The rack was already lose. We loaded our pigs on there and went to pick up Roof. When we got there, the rack was still hanging on by a thread and Sandcritter's pig was missing. We had to put the pigs in the back of the truck and then go find the missing pig. It was only a few hundred yards away in the middle of the trail laying in about a foot of mud.

Brian Thanks for the Pics. I forgot my camera so all I got was some crappy cell phone pics. Had a great time partnered up with you guys. Sorry I always rode up front but at least I did get the gates.

Charles, PM me your email address and I can send them to you.

It wasn't a problem riding in the back. Matter of fact, that one night when the rack broke, I was so covered in mud and blood and pig schit, I almost just stayed in the back of the truck with the pigs after we got them loaded for the third time.

You know how it is with the fella behind the camera. He never gets his picture took. It was a real pleasure meeting GW, and tipping a bourbon or three.

Jr's pig. Just right for comsumption. I grilled some backstrap yesterday and it's looking like Carnitas today....

Oh, he was running a .308 with 165 grain Sierra Prohunters.

(The space ship in the back ground is actually a blind. A dry blind, which worked out fine.)

The same morning Jr. got his pig, I got one too. The rifle is one of the run that Darrik had at Whittaker's. Tikka T3 Superlight chambered for 260 remington. I was shooting 130 grain Nosler Accubonds.
