Rumors identify it as caliche mud. ...
It's Montmorillonite clay--essentially the same thing as bentonite that is used in drilling mud. Enjoy! mudhen- Coming from a member named "mudhen", what else is there to do but consider this ID as expert and definitive. I'm not convinced of Montmorillonite's sealing properties, however. During all of the 1700-mile trek home from Texas to the U.P., the mucky glop oozed from the rusty holes in my Taco's fenders like puss from under a scab. Bleah! --Bob

I took this pic of Joel's son Lawson, cause he's six months or less away from the most grueling up coming part of his life. Stint in the U.S. Marine Corp. Wanted him to remember how good that Honey Bun tasted before they are no more and 15 mile runs are easy. Gordon, my friend. You are so right about the changes that are upcoming in Lawson's life. He seems oblivious these days, but I know that in the months to come he will look back and think to him himself, "I wish life were as simple as simple as it were back then." But he will also come back to find there is very little out there tougher than he is.

A couple of more pictures. This happened to me twice. This was the nicest ground blind I've ever been in. A little bit of wildlife.

Those blinds like that are bought by the thousands in this state. Expensive to the normal guy like me. Used all over in the hunting operations on the ranches, some of the chairs were lacking. They need to make sure all blinds have used but good office type chairs. Damn metal chairs kill the butt.

Patrick...I remember you speaking of a Nikon zoom you had found at a good price.
Do you remember and will you let me know?
Thank you, Patrick.

I thought you were speaking of a camera zoom, Patrick.
I have the Nikon D3300 DX without a extra zoom and your post caught my attention. I've lost it since.
Maybe you were speaking of a rifle scope.
Need it for Alaska cruise.
