I had one a few years back. Good optics for the price. I still have a set of Alpen binos that I really like.
Those who must raise their voice to get their point across are generally not intelligent enough to do so in any other way.

Since bino were brought up, I have two I really like. To me they are the best value for the money spent.

To me they are the best value for the money spent. I agree with this......but no matter how you spin it they are entry level glass. I have a set of Alpen bino's that I take to sporting events and pass around with my friends and they work great. When I am hunting my Swaro's are strapped to me.

$500 - $1000 sure isn't entry level to me and probably most who post here.

Sure, I've had two. The little 15-30x50 that someone here on the campfire bought. Really a nice little scope that had surprising image quality. I have a 788 now. It is an 80mm scope that looks like all the other 80mm Chinese scopes to me. It works pretty well. It gets rave reviews online. I would give it a good, solid review, but certainly not a rave review. I like the big, angled eyepiece and the images are pretty good at the lower magnifications but like so many cheaper scopes the upper end doesn't really give you any extra viewing power. My go to field binocular right now is an Alpen Apex 8.5x50. Seems to be a real sweet spot for me with magnification and quality. Alpen has that same marketing plan as many others of offering a ladder of products that increase in quality with price. The top of the line Alpen stuff is really nice, but IMHO if you are paying that much why not just go all the way and get the Zeiss, Swaro or Leica? Long winded way to say that if you like the image quality of the scope you are looking at you can find good value with Alpen products.
