For $1500 to $2000 in the 6.5 Creedmoor I wouldn't build, I'd buy. What are you not finding in current factory or semi-custom rifles? What "boxes" aren't being checked?
The answer to that question will go a long way to helping us give you advice on what components to use if you do decide to go the custom route.
I solved my need for a 6.5 CRM simply by doing a bit of shopping.
To wait for a custom build however nice it might be seemed to me to be a long route to play with a cartridge that I had no experience with and wanting a fairly light rifle rather than a heavy target gun, I decide to go with one of the new slimmed down Howa Alpines and I couldn't be happier with that choice.
I did not have to wait months for a build or work out any possible kinks, simply take it out of the box break it in and go hunting.
