Just got him home last night. Forgot about the sleeplessness, but today is going great. Playing with the ball, he is already retrieving at 7 weeks. I hope that is a good sign.

Tough to get a picture of him since he stays right by my side or between my legs.

Chessies were a favorite of mine for years. But it's also been years since I had one.
don't do much duck hunting any more. So I just rescued a one year old vizsla. I'm hoping I can get him to stay close to the horses and just be a good trail dog.

Just turned 9 weeks and 15 pounds Glad my other dog finally is somewhat accepting of Hank. He is full of energy. I have been working on crate training, which has been going great. He has leaned the bell hanging on the door means he gets to go outside, which he uses when he has to poop we are still working on peeing everywhere though.

Potty training is actually starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. However Friday an eagle flew over the back yard, while Hank was doing his business, and dropped the duck it had just snagged out of the river. I was chasing Hank thiking the eagle might decide on making him a meal instead of the duck. Anyways hank grabbed the dock and ran it into the house. He let it go then decided to get the happy [bleep] all over. So my wife and kid wakes up from the dog chasing the still alive duck around the house and me cussing and yelling at the dogs for running around pooping all over the living and dining room. It was a mess. But today was better. We went to play on the beach. The water was still a little cold for the pup, but he had fun as long as his nuts were dry.

Just got back from the trainers. Hank is doing great. Marking great and has an amazing drive. Still got to work on doubles and blinds though. Here are a few pictures of him working on the beach. He has quite the wind up before the charge.

Neat color. Sure he's a big 'un. Mine is perfect for me. A nice, trim, leggy and athletic dog. 11 months. Was 68.4 last week. I don't expect him to get much bigger. Sooooo anxious for the 15th to get here. Done all my own training and have lots of time in the dogs. He's a thick skulled one. But once he's got it....it's G2G for Keeps.

Yeah. Anxiously waiting for the 15th as well. I plan on hunting deer for the week though, then transitioning into ducks. Unless I get lucky and I tag out early. I will bring bringing my shotgun with me just in case.
Your dog looks great. Hank is about the same size, just has a pretty thick coat on him.
