Sam, Your boat should do 50mph easily! Even against the wind or current. Did you get a soft top enclosure with it?
I have a 20ft welded sled design which is quite heavy and with a full enclosure. I'm running a 115 yamaha on an extended transom. I'm getting 40mph plus. Although rarely travel that speed with the logs and branches floating down the river.
This boat of yours must be using max rated HP with a 150? It will jump up to plain like it's been launched from the deck of an aircraft carrier!
My Kicker is 8HP Honda and I have never wished for more! Again you have a 9 which should get you to 15mph pretty easy in that boat! That's a great size motor for a Kicker, although doubtful you will need a kicker to that speed, generally they run 2-5MPH trolling! A great backup when far from the dock and a problem comes up with the main. I always enjoy that piece of mind here on Puget Sound when I can be 40-50 plus miles from the marina!
The nice feature you have is cockpit kicker control. Did you get them to add the steering control bar for the kicker too? Probably a silly question as that looks to have all the "right stuff" already.
I also have the Humminbird electronics. User friendly and really nice in my opinion!

Thanks guys. I'm pretty excited to get it wet.
JJ: yeah, I have the full canvas top for it as well as the snap on mooring cover. The boat is rated for a 150 and since the kids like watersports I thought it best to go with the max. I'm hoping the kicker goes slower than 2 mph, but I have the Terrova if needed for quiet slow power. The kicker is tied to the main engine, which keeps them from hitting each other as a bonus.
The only thing I didn't add that I may in the future is the Mercury Smart craft gauges. It would be nice to adjust the idle speed and the smart tow would be cool. We will see in the future.

What do they say?, "If I had that boat, and you had a feather".
We'd both be tickled.
Enjoy it safely Sam!

You can get the kicker to function as needed by using different props. See where it goes and then talk to the boat shop. They usually know what to select best without a ton of trial and error.

Gotta love a big ol' Lund! When I moved to Minnesota from Ohio, it became obvious that it's basically mandatory to own a Lund in Minnesota. I've had mine for well over 20 years now, and the danged things are just about bullet proof. Built right and built to last.
