I'm not telling you what you know, I'm telling you what you said. Apparently you needed a reminder, just happy to oblige.

You sure know a lot though, for a rifle and cartridge you have no interest in.

PS: In the future, I'll make sure I don't "drag you in" to threads you have no interest in.

Bob can no more stay away from a .280ackley thread than Smoke can stop arguing about everything.

Hopefully the W will die down a bit soon.

Nice rifle and more should look at for an example of real custom wood. Always nice when the grain has some "Smoke" drifting around. 😄

I'd get it and run it for a while and then decide if you want to keep the 280 ackley or the 270 and which ever one you don't want to keep send me a message and make me a hell of a deal and I'll take one of them off your hands. It's really the only logical thing to do wink

Wow - why didn't I think of that! Would it be OK if I just give it to you? wink

I've always been under the impression that a 280AI is a funky looking 270 unless 162's are on the table.

Do the MT 280 AI's cycle as smoothly as the 270's?

The one I played with didn't. Have another on the way, so will see how it feeds.

My 270 MT is far from perfect, I wouldn't want it any worse....grin

16bore, you know the 140 AB/270 combo is impossible to beat for deer!

Judging by the drift at 400 yards I'm guessing a 10 mph wind?

I had my 270 win re-barreled to a 280 ackley this last fall. Love that chambering.

It's never going to have the power of a 7mm RM. And in practical hunting terms, it doesn't do anything a 270 or 30-06 won't do. But it's just the little things, that on their own are not worth arguing. But added all together make the 280 Ackley the perfect chambering for me.

Loaded with just over 60 grains of RL 26, pushing a 168 grain Berger VLD slightly faster than 2900 fps… cool It's the bee's knees. smile
