Spring is coming, just not sure when !!

They say Friday & Saturday are going to be warm & sunny. Highs of 16-19*C & lows of 2-4*C.

There is hope !

Well, I got the boat out of the back yard. It came through the winter pretty good. No mouse damage that I can see. 'Hope to put it back together this Sunday. Needs a good bath, put the batteries in, mount the trolling motor, gas can, check all the lights, and my annual foray after dark to use the spotlight to check for loose rivets, cracks, etc. 'Don't think I ran over anything last year, and it wasn't leaking when I put it away so we should be good. My wife so loves climbing around in the boat after dark with the spotlight shining the bottom of the hull so I can check for leaks.........

Fill it with water and see if it leaks. For real.

I have two flat tires on the trailer that I need to fix/replace. They're pretty weather checked, so I'll probably have to run to fleet farm/walmart and get a couple new ones.

I'll be gone this weekend but next weekend is boat prep weekend. I'll do the same thing as you pretty much.

The floor is soft, not rotten as of last year, but soft. I'm hoping I can get a season out of it. Mostly because I don't think I have time to replace the floor in it this year. I may do the front deck this spring/summer if I get time. That part is pretty easy.

The problem is if you tear into it a little bit, they you start thinking... "maybe I should put some storage here... move the batteries to here, run some wire for lighting here, and here" It never ends. grin

That looks like a jake to me Fluffy. He's got that little beard poking out the front. the real tell-tale is the fan, which we can't see from the angle you have. If the center few feathers are a bit longer than the rest, he's not a full grown tom yet. They're still much bigger than the hens though.

I did a boat overhaul last year about this time on my boat, it was a lot of fun, but a lot of work. found lots of good info on tinboats.net to do the build.

My south shop door is open today.

My outdoor thermometer says 54 in the shade. I've been working outside mostly today in a t-shirt.

Last weekend I took the boy to a Tigers/Yankees game; mostly to spend time with him and get my mind off losing my brother 9 years ago to the day. Anyway, records were set for coldest regular season game at 31* and a 20* windchill, with snow flurries. This weekend it's supposed to be 70* and sunny. Go figure.

That's giving them a COMPLIMENT, relatively speaking. What really sucks is the pitching hasn't been all that bad. The batters for the Twins couldn't hit a beach ball if it was sitting on a T right now.

So Chicken is filed under C, Potatoes are filed under P, and Fire is filed under F. What's in the mystery drawer?

Very cool BTW!

Well, I'm off Friday, and if the weather holds, I hope to slip the boat into Prior Lake and go get some crappies and sunnies. If it stays nice all week, they ought to be up in the fallen trees, and it's pretty easy pickin's. Some nice sunnies to top off the basket, maybe a ride over to the restaurant on the lake, enjoy a light lunch and call it a day. Ah, yes, this should do it.
