Sunday started rough with trolling battery problems but after we fixed the problem we started pulling Crappie Reaper planer boards and got 25 keepers and probably caught 75 shorts not bad for a five hour trip.

I hear Chickamauga has been good for big crappie and sunfish for the last few years.
Eating fried chicken and watermelon since 1972.

Well done!
Wife and I went out for 3 hours yesterday here in North Idaho--rare 80* day here in April... We caught 100 crappie and 50 bluegill, assorted bass and perch. Fish on every cast...
Only kept 7 crappie for dinner, threw everything else back. Unreal fishing for an April day here, used the same style grub depicted above!

Awesome! I need to figure out how to catch those buggers once we get our new boat in the water. Used to fish for them when we were kids using minnows but am betting a lot has changed.
We fished Nickajack lake last week, just below the damn on Chickamaunga and did well on the cat fish.
My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.
