Thinking of getting a Lasermax Spartan to put on my Ruger SR22 pistol. Will use for small game when I'm hunting out to 15 yards or so.
My eyes are bad enough I can't see pistol sights anymore.
Anybody have one or a crimson trace.
Lasermax has a 5 year warranty vs 3 year for the crimson trace.

Thoughts??

Big guns can be loaded down to little gun levels. Little guns are always little guns.

I have a Lasermax, not sure of the model, on my AMT Backup. This is the one that clamps to the triggerguard, and was meant for a Colt Mustang (even had 'COLT" pressed into the plastic on both sides), although it fits the AMT perfectly. I like it. Out of the box it was "zeroed" as good as I could expect, no adjustments needed. My intended use is for night time defense, not hunting, but I will probably end up drilling a coon or two with it. The AMT basically has no sights, so the laser is a tremendous improvement.

I don't see pistol sights as well as in my younger days and I've been looking at Lasers lately since I recently retired. Been talking to a few folks and a local gunsmith/dealer about them and have been hearing lots of good stuff about Lasermax. So that's what I've decided to get, haven't got one yet but I'm leaning heavily towards that SPS-R unit you mentioned . Plan on using it on a Glock 19; anyone else have one or have any thoughts on one?

I just was looking at this...

https://www.lasermax.com/products/centerfire-lasers/cf-jframe-2#

...in the FAQ LaserMax does not claim that they will be bright enough to be used in daylight under stress. Low light and as a training tool for point shooting, and that may be good enough.
