I was in my local Cabela's (Noblesville, Indiana) store this week and cruised by the .22 ammo shelves, there was an employee there with a cart full of ammo busily stocking the shelves. I asked him if the shortage of .22 ammo has eased and he replied that they have been receiving plenty of .22 ammo. While Cabela's shelves had not been empty the selection had been kind of sparse. They now have quite a selection even several varieties of Eley, the new Browning ammo, Norma and others. Not just a few boxes, the shelves are blocked out pretty well stacked to capacity. Is this typical in other Cabela's stores around the country?

I was at the Christiana, DE location yesterday and there was quite an abundance as well. Same brands as mentioned plus some 100pks of Remington Golden Bullet.
Enjoy the hunt while it lasts!

Hopefully, that "abundance" will filter down to the online sources as well. I just had a hit on one of my in-stock notifications, but there was a one-brick limit. If I was out, I would have jumped, but $13 shipping is too rich for 500 rounds.
The best part is that the .22 speculators are about to find themselves sitting on a bunch of crappy bulk ammo that nobody will want.
What fresh Hell is this?

I was at one yesterday and the going rate for bulk stuff was $29.00-$45.00 per brick, so prices are going down at the shows. Some idiots were still trying to get $55.00/brick and I just shook my head and proceeded to another table. Hopefully we start getting an abundance in the stores again and the hoarders and scalpers will be left eating all the ammo they bought.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I bought some nice Federal std vel Gold Medal Target for $40/brick this weekend. I thought that was fair, especially since it's more accurate than crappy bulk ammo.

When Hillary gets in office we won't have guns to shoot our $50/brick ammo in.

To quote former VP Spiro Agnew you nattering nabobs of negativity have been spewing the same crap since the 1960's about how the politicians are going to grab our guns. It hasn't happened yet, all the commotion has done is to create panic buying, hoarding and price gouging. How has that helped our cause??????????? Whomever becomes POTUS will have lots bigger fish to fry than wasting time on any feared gun grabbing legislation. Jobs, the economy, illegal immigration, the muzzie problem to name just a few.

I was in the Christiana Cabela's store couple days ago and they still have lots of 22LR. And the only limit was how much $$$ I wanted to spend.

I was at Sportman's Warehouse on Sunday and they had 50 packs, 100 packs, and 500 packs of CCI and Winchester. They were not drawing any attention at all.
The market will have to be saturated at some point after years of hoarding ammunition and prices will plummet.

Prices are still high in my area when the ammo is available. I was in a Big 5 sporting goods last week and they wanted $99.99 for a brick of 22 ammo that I had never heard of. I can still pick up an occasional box by checking stores.

Big 5 is almost always the most expensive place in my neck of the woods.
When the put their stuff on sale, it's priced what other retailers normal prices are.
I only shop Big 5 if I'm really stuck.

The Cabela's in LaVista, NE, had three different styles of .22 LR ammo from Cascade today; standard velocity, HV, and super HV claiming 1,500 fps. It was all price the same, $65 per 500, but I've never shot any Cascade ammo and would probably pay a little more for Eley or Norma.

Jeff,
You might want to Google a few reviews of Cascade ammo.

I just assumed that, being Mexican, it was about the same as Aguila and I'm not a fan of Aguila.
I replied to your PM.
