I have a post in the classifieds looking for some 250 savage brass. One of the members suggested I post down here. I've got a savage 99 on the way, and am looking for enough to get started loading. Anyone with any leads?
Oh, and believe it or not, deer bite. Fairly hard.

Someone posted that brass was available. I just bought 2 boxes of 100gr Remington ammo. Quite expensive, $39 per box. But,my 250 loves the Remington factory stuff. I've got a 100 count box of 100 gr Remingtons, but have not been able to match the factory loads. Lots of folks reform 22-250 brass. More info will be along, Joe.

If all else fails, there is plenty of 22-250 brass available. Years ago when I still had my Steyr 250 I made up 60 or so cases by expanding the necks in two stages, then outside turning them. After checking the runout I ended up discarding 7 cases with more than .002 of TIR. I used those remaining 53 rounds for many years with great success (and accuracy!). So there are options! Hope you enjoy a great little round! Bill

My local dealer got in 5 boxes and I bought 2. I'll probably go back and get another one. I think I'm his only customer that buys 250. I hate to pay almost 40 bucks a box, but my gun loves the stuff. I have 300 87 gr bullets that the 1 in 14 twist should shoot better, but I'm kind of saving them till I use up my 100 gr'ers. Good luck with yours, Joe.

I would use 22-250 brass lots of 99,s have large chambers set the 22 - 250 for your chamber and then neck size and bump shoulders back as needed.
