I have a very early Montana in 7 WSM. It feeds fine, although not as smoothly as a later .325 that I had for a short time. The 7 will feed empties, for whatever that's worth.

I've had a Kimber Montana 7 WSM for a few years now and have never had a issue with it.

David David, I got my first 300 WSM 8400 MT in June 2004... it didn't feed worth a chit. I looked at it closely, how it fed rounds, and concluded the feed ramp was too steep. I called my friend at Kimber, the then Chief Design Engineer, and told him the story. He told me he'd look at it. He called back a week later and agreed... by his calculation the feedramp was 10* too steep (he didn't design the action). He changed it on CAD, and about 6 mos later the shallower feedramp version became available (same was true of the 84M which was also changed). Since, I've had 3 or 4 8400 WSM's. They've all fed beautifully. Apart from a single stack magazine, I don't think any action feeds them better. I wish they had a no.2 contour from the factory, but that's a minor nit-pick. The stock fits me like it was made for me, and absorbs recoil like no stock I've ever had. Were I in the WSM mood, the Kimber 8400 would be my first stop.

Have had Kimber, Rem and Winchester WSMs. The Kimbers fed far better than the others by a far 'smoother' margin.

My Kimber Montana in 7 mm WSM is my newest one. It shot well again a few days ago.
I am trying a TSX bullet in it. First at 100 yds it proved it was on with two shots into 3/4" with the 110 TTSX over RL 17 into 3/4" then two right on at 200 yds.

I've never had a feeding issue in my 8400 WSM Montana. Or any other issue for that matter.

MY 7WSM shoots great but does occasionally produce feeding problems for me.

I've had several in each of 270WSM, 300WSM and 325WSM and never had a feeding issue with any of them. The 325WSM I have now is actually one of the smoothest feeding rifles I've ever owned.

David,
I have a very early production Montana 8400 in 7WSM. It feeds slicker than pig snot. I've also had a newer production 8400 7WSM, which fed flawlessly as well. I wouldn't worry about it.

I probably hit more elk with a pickup than you have with a rifle. I have yet to see anyone claim Leupold has never had to fix an optic. I know I have sent a few back. 2 MK 6s, a VX-6, and 3 VX-111s.

Depends on if the goose has been AI'ed or not
