I've had one for about 4 years and I like it a lot. I shoot it pretty well and I like the feel of it. I admit, I'm partial to Big Green and have no interest in some of the other fine Italian fowling pieces. My only complaint is that I seem to have to retighten the forend cap more often than I think I should. I probably would have kept shooting my 1100 forever, if it would have shot 3 1/2 inch shells. It's easy to clean and has never failed me.

I've stated my opinion of them here a couple times, my opinion is formed from working in a Remington service center for a decade. I think the VersaMax is the biggest POS excuse for a shotgun that Big Green has foisted upon the public in their history.
I have seen a wide array of problems with them and some pretty half assed remedies from the engineers at Remington. Do a search for my previous posts on them for more details.
Good luck

Wow! I'm sure glad I haven't seen anything like that! Maybe I've been lucky.
