Nice! Freshwater Bay?
I was at Sekiu last week. The weather and fishing both sucked. Actually the weather started nice, but went to chit by lunch.
I managed to put one aquarium size but in the boat. Maybe 20#'s......that's a big maybe. Lol.
Sounds like a lot of people went home empty handed.

yes. freshwater Bay. Horribly rough morning so we launched and just stayed inside the bay. About a mile from the boat ramp. Anchored up and dropped a chum sack on one of the downriggers. Been pretty slow. We fished the day before at Whiskey Creek and never saw one caught. This was the only one we saw this morning. It's getting tougher every year as they keep shortening the season. He didn't come up to hard but he made a couple of runs all the way back to the bottom. Thank goodness we were fishing shallow. After we harpooned him he really went wild.

Very nice! Double the size of the chickens I usually pull out of Neah Bay.

Nice fish.
How much meat does one that size yield?

I've never weighed just the meat. We are very careful about getting everything we can when we fillet them. I would think we probably came out with at least 35 lbs or more of clean skinless fillets.

Oh yeah we fried up the cheeks that morning when we got home. They were so fresh that one of them was having nerve pulsations like a heart beating right after we cut them out.

You headed back out, LD?
I had half a mind to drag the boat to Neah, but the thought of the Memorial day hoards swiftly cured me of the notion!

Man that looks good.
Just came home from the local seafood store where the price of halibut made me choke.
Mighty envious here.

We're going to fish Sunday which is the last day. It is open thursday thru sunday of this week but i had to work yesterday and today and then again tomorrow. Wind has been blowing every afternoon so haven't been able to get out after work either. I think the wind is going to let up a little tomorrow so hopefully maybe after work. Like to get one more for the freezer. heard good news yesterday that we are going to get a chinook season. 6 weeks starting July 1. Looks like there will be no coho fishing this year due to a projected small run of fish.
