I'm getting ready to scope a matte stainless rifle with a Leupold VX-2 with a matte blue finish. What color scope rings/bases do you think would be more aesthetically pleasing with this combo?
I'm thinking stainless rings and bases.
24HCF in its entirety, is solely responsible for why my children do not have college funds, my mortgage isn't paid-off and why I will never retire early enough to enjoy the remainder of my life.

My preference is to match the scope finish, but this is truly a personal preference.

Go matte. Stainless scopes can be tough to resell if you decide to get rid of one.

Dont mind SS rifles, but SS scopes and mounting equipment look cheap. JMHO
Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!

I match the rings to the color of the scope myself and I agree with Dillonbuck... on SS guns I usually go matte scope.

I match the rings to the color of the scope myself and I agree with Dillonbuck... on SS guns I usually go matte scope. One more vote for matte blue rings and scope. I never thought of it before, but a stainless scope and stainless rings do look cheap.

After looking at the pictures I agree, it looks better to match the color of the rings and bases to the color of the scope.

and tightening them up..... I own many fine torque wrenches; they're tightened to spec.

I buy matte in case I sell the rifle and want move the scope to another rifle that isnt stainless. But agree its more personal taste than anything else.
