Thinking of a browning BLR in 308 Win.
As a light carry gun.
250 yards max on deer elk and moose.

Assuming this combo provides decent accuracy:

Has anybody experience the effectiveness on big game
Barns 130 g TTSX in the 308 Win?

Or what would you try?

Love them. Like the 110 even better for deer. 3000+ fps with 4895. Have yet to recover one.

Great bullet. Should be able to get close to 3200 in the 308 with it. Never used it in a 308, but in a 30-06 it strikes like lightning. My dad calls it the "5 second bullet", because that is the longest a deer has stayed on it's feet after hit with one.

So, maybe Roy Weatherby DID know what he was talking about.

That bullet works great on deer out of a mild 30-06. It should be awesome in the 308.

I researched the heck out of them awhile back, and the 130s are what are on my bench. Many reviews at Midway.

Steelhead has had good success from the 300Savage w/them so I think the .308 would just be a better delivery system. powdr

I know you said 308 BUT it is my favorite bullet for Arizona Mule Deer out of my 30-06. BANG ... FLOP cuts like butta. I'll only use mine out to 300 yards.

Remember, not everyone has a happy ending, so be happy when you can
