I'm getting setup to load a few tss loads and was curious what type of chokes y'all was shooting with the best patterns. I have read different opinions and was curious what y'all thought. A tighter choke such as a 555 in a 20 or more open like 570?

I'd start open and work down from there. A lot of guys find that a factory full is adequate. .555 is generally tight. My 870 didn't like the .555 and would blow the pattern. Mine likes the .570 range. Try what you have first, even if it's a factory flush mount. It might be the ticket. Ymmv.

What gun?
You can over choke TSS. From my experience it shoots tighter and more even close to a full than a super full constriction. In my 870 20ga, I run a .572 measured in Rem Super Full "lead only". Trulock, Pure Gold, and Indian Creek have all throw. Good patterns in other guns I've put on paper as well. If you don't have a chrome lined barrel, polishing is more important than the choke feom my experience.

I have a 870 youth model and Benelli m2 that I plan to work with for the most part. I also have a h&r pardner pump that I'd like to get to shoot.
As of now the 870 has a tite wad and the m2 has a jelly head maximum

I'd try what you have for starters.

I'd try what you have for starters. Agree. No sense in spending money if you don't have to. If you don't like the results, I'd do this......... Remington Super Full "lead only". Make sure and polish the barrel before you pattern. I've built 10 of these guns all using that choke with a polished barrel. I've yet to see one not produce 300+ hits in the 10 @ 40 yards with TSS #9's. Barrel is chromed lined, so no need to polish. Just make sure you deep clean the barrel before patterning. I'd use an Indian Creek .555 Black Diamond. My M1 was over 400 hits with this combo.
