my hat?? Hot weather special that suits 90F plus!! Normally I wear a cap but that doesn't help much in keeping the sun off a man's ears!!

Wish I would have worn one of those 40 years ago. Had a chunk taken off the top of rt ear couple years ago. Fortunately it was only basal cell.

I applaud you for knowing the difference between a hat and a cap.

No! Belongs to a friend in Tallulah, La. Here for some maintenance.

These two SNJ-5 belong to my son:

I have taken to wearing a coyote brown version of your issue boonie as it has a wide-ish brim and soaks up sweat. I find the Akubra and Stetson make me sweat a lot, and are not as comfortable.

And if you want to see ridiculous skin cancer rates then come here as this is the epicentre, only a complete fool wanders about without a hat here.

Or a teenager that hasn't had their first bit of hide cut off.

These are my opinions, feel free to disagree.

Anglos who like the outdoors should never pass up the opportunity to buy a good hat. Boonies are my favorite, I hate to say it but the USMC version has the widest[best] brim. Propper has them in non mil colors.

Stab them in the taint, you can't put a tourniquet on that.

Sharpsman,

If you don't mind my asking, do you have a link to that hat ?
Or a brand name and style for it ?
Thanks,

Myron

Nothing special about this hat other than it's not heavy, is very cool with vents for air flow with a wide brim. Bought it two years back at my local coop store! Has a band that has Soybean written on it! Basically it's just a straw hat...an El Cheapo Special...but wears good!

Here's a hat I just bought:

Thanks, friend !

I knew it didn't look like a regular boonie hat.

I don't know how long before it falls apart, but I have an el-cheapo straw hat that I bought from the local large grocery chain store several years ago.

Then it will be time for something else.

Myron
