Does a 24V 222/20 ga like new with a 4 digit sr# have enough collectors value to not use it? serial #XX01 the entire gun is 99% no marks at all on the wood. and only wear at the corners at the bottom of the receiver on the blueing. which is hard to see because it is so thin a line. Question, the screws (3) that hold the one piece scope base on are very small,if the shotgun is shot with the scope mounted is there any known danger of stripping the threads out on the receiver? or should I sell this one to a collector and buy a well used one to hunt with?

Hey Hubert, very insightful questions. I personally think that any vintage gun in mint shape has potential to be a collector, but unfortunately the 24 may appreciate very slowly. Think many years before a mint gun gains much. Just my opinion, and a guess.
Shooting a shotgun scoped is not my area of knowledge, but I think you are wise to approach with caution, as I have heard things too. Be interesting to see what the guys have to say. Good luck with the gun.
