Well I finally figured it out. For some reason I looked at the box for help and I found a small plastic bag with an allen wrench in it. Guess what? It fits the top of the turret to remove and rezero. It looks like the instructions would tell the buyer, but not on this one. I will give a summary of what I see with this scope:
Weight: 17.25 oz.
Length: 12.25" with the eyepiece adjusted
Mounting length: 5.5"
The other specs are listed on the Weaver website.
It is a pretty nice scope it has 4x zoom, argon purged, side focus down to 25 yards, 18 MOA with one turn of the turret, and Weaver's famous Micro-Trac system. I pulled out a couple of other scopes this morning to get a feel for its resolution. I compared it to a Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x42, Zeiss HD5 5-25x50, and a Leupold VX-3 4.5-14x50 LR. I kept each scope on 10x since it was the maximum power achievable with the Nightforce. I am very impressed with the Weaver. For the price you have to spend alot more money to get noticeably better resolution. The Weaver was an equal to the Leupold VX-3. The Zeiss and Nightforce were noticeably better to my eye, but the cost jump is significant. Between the Nightforce and Zeiss the Nightforce edges the Zeiss slightly.
I tested the scopes this morning with an overcast sky, if anyone is interested I can try and compare them as the sun is dropping if we don't get the rain the weatherman says may come.
