That's reasoning that escapes liberals.

Seems it escapes a few here as well

That woman should be banned from every zoo, aquarium and theme park for life. She should also be responsible for the value of the gorilla.

What value does a caged gorilla really have?...it has no trophy value which would provide money to local communities, it ain't going to end up on a wall, and it ain't going to feed hungry villagers.

This Walt Disneyesque ideology about animals is rediculous

It is what it is a an unfortunate incident that could have ended up with the zoo paying out millions over a dead child I'd call the dead monkey a wash

I heard the Dallas Zoo keeps a .458 around, in case one of the big ones gets loose.

The value of an animal that is one of only several hundred in existence is increased by its rarity. I heard a conservative value of a million dollars. The gorilla actually earns money through attendance not to mention the other hard costs of permits and acquisition.

The zoos actually pay lots of money for those animals and male gorillas are a pretty rare and hit commodity. The kid should have had his ass beaten before it got to that point. Apparently, he had been talking bout jumping in the water well before he slipped through about three fences and did it.

First and foremost, the parents should have been watching him. Second, a child should not be able to defeat the barrier. Third, once the ape had the kid, there is no way of knowing what he would do. Hit him with a tranquilizer and chance that it might piss him off? Nobody wants to see a 4 year old ripped in half. Nope, drop him NOW. Whatever happened, the kid is a higher priority than the ape.

I know some of you are old enough to remember the "Oh what a feeling!!" Toyota commercials. That is the first thing I thought of when I saw the monkey in that picture.

The kraut officers used a 9MM Luger. They would haze the gorillas into making them charge and then head shoot them.

What about the responsibility of the zoo to have barriers that a young child can't pass through?

I sure hope they don't let the big ape go to waste. Have it stuffed, complete with small boy dangled by his ankle and displayed at the zoo. It would be a great example for the children. laugh
