Non-magnum?... That narrows things down a bit. In no particular order...
.223 rem.: cheap and easy to shoot 22-250 rem: I like exploding p-dogs .44 special (we're not limited to rifle cartridges only?) not much recoil, and it makes big holes 25-06 rem: great deer hunting round. .280 Imp.: I don't own one, but me father's keeps up with my 7mm mag with 10 gr less powder.

I've never needed any more "horsepower" in B.C. - but if I get more (just "because") highest on my list would be the .338, or for even more hp, I sure love the .375H&H.
