after years of finding nothing, or virtually nothing, The Bass Pro in Dania Beach (Ft Lauderdale, FL) was fully stocked. A good variety of types and brands, and at less than .07 a round.

Academy usually has a decent selection.

I passed on Win. 555's because the ones I have are not reliable in my semi's.

I've been seeing plenty of 22lr. But, for the first time in years, I've been seeing a few boxes of 22 mag.

We don't have much in the way of choices around here. There is no Wal-Mart. Kmart doesn't sell guns and ammo. Sports Authority is closing. That leave a couple of local gun stores. Due to their low volume, they don't get many shipments if stuff is scarce. When they do get 22lr, they crank up the price. Why shouldn't they? If you want it you'll have to pay for it. I don't need it that bad.

Oh yeah, I get that cost and such...

But I still have over 100K rounds from when it was less than 100 or so a case.....

This past weekend in Blueridge, GA, we went shopping in a knick knack gift shop and I spied some recent manufacture Winchester 22ammo sitting around gathering dust. "How much for the 22?" . " Gimme $20, but ya gotta take it all."

I whipped out a twenty as fast as I could. One brick of Winchester Wildcat ammo, one full slide top box of CCI, a full 50-round box of WW 22 and a zip lock sandwich bag stuffed with WW 22's! Think I did fair...

Seeing some but not the Federal or Winchester varieties that my rifles are fond of. I find it truly odd that I have couple cases on hand and feel like I'm really getting short.

Took the guns out of the safe and put the ammo in.

It seems to me that demand isn't going to drop off like the folks at the ammo companies thought it was, and people are pretty much willing to pay 10 cents a round. At this point I can't see the argument that it wouldn't pay for them to increase production capacity. I need to start scouting around Jackson Hole for a couple of investors to buy some 22lr loading machines and start my own company. Especially since I think Hillary is going to win the election.

A couple of my local gunshops have been getting a pretty fair supply for the last couple years. The last few years I have been finding decent stuff like Mini Mags online and buying a little here and there. Until last week I had not seen Long Rifle ammo in our Walmart stores for years. Last week for the first time in a long while I saw five 100 ct. boxes of Super X Winchester at my local Walmart. I left it to warm the heart of someone else.
