Krista 12 {my 2nd daughter} and I hunted this evening.We set up under some small live oaks overlooking a creek crossing and a rub line.I rattled and grunted off and on three or four times over an hours time. I had just finished grunting when Krista said "there's a deer"! I looked to my right and a nice 8 point {would have been a 9 had he not broken a brow tine} was walking right down the trail towards the creek. I grunted he stopped ,but Krista couldn't get on him.We waited as he started walking again,I grunted ,he stopped. This time Krista was on him,she squeezed the trigger on my .243 taking out both shoulders.He flipped straight backwards and it was all over. Nicely done!!!! My oldest Daughter is ten. She is just starting to be able to hold a 30-30 steady (free standing) I hope to get her on a bear this spring! Gotta love girls whacking big game!

I love it. It's great to see the young ones hunting and their parents taking the time to help them learn the tricks of the trade so to speak. Lots of great memories there.
