Texas heart shot on this buck as he ran straight away. Dropped. 270 Titus 130 GMX. I quit using them due to length in the short case.

You are good to go. I have used them quite a bit on deer and would not hesitate to use them on elk.

The one I did recovered showed perfect expansion. Right under the skin on a big bodied mule deer after going through the stomach.

One of the guys who posts here has used the .270 with 130gr TTSX extensively in Africa on all types of non-dangerous game and has nothing but praise for its performance on 2 dozen + animals, including game larger than our elk.

I'd think the GMX couldn't possibly be much different.

I've seen GMX's of various sizes used on game up to 700 pounds or so, and have yet to observe any meaningful difference in terminal performance between them and Barnes TTSX's or Nosler E-Tips. All three expand reliably and penetrate deeply.
