Have a few Pythons that may be for sale soon. Trying to connect with collectors. No boxes but all 4 in excellent condition. One Snub Nose and one 38 Target Nickel finish, one 6 in blue and one 4in Nickel with Pearl grips. Been looking at GB and Guns America. Any suggestions on best way to sell. Weatherby rifles also.
Thanks

Colt revolvers for selling, Smifs for shooting!

Yeah, I really don't think there's much of a market for snake guns. Probly best to just gift them to your favorite, most colorful campfire friends. How have you been anyway friend?

Colt revolvers for selling, Smifs for shooting! I have the same feeling, However my handguning is on a much smaller scale now and However I've always appreciated their fit/finish, So at a reasonable price I'd love to own a 4-6" 357 M. hint Jerry

I agree with jt about the Smiths being the best shooters. The Colts are for collectors and the prices they are bringing are no where close to reasonable.

I had a Colt Model "357 Magnum" one time in the 1960's. That thing had an action that was smooth as melted butter on glass and I could hit with it very well. It worked great until it didn't. Always shot great single action, but after owning it for several years, I tried it double action and it would misfire about every other chamber. My gunsmith told me I would be better off to sell it as is, get a S&W 357mag and Let some one else worry about the timing on the thing. That is what I did.
Pythons go for a premium in these parts that is hard to believe. I've seen two for sale in the local gunshop that were over $2500 and they sold. One was in great shape and the other had a little timing problem and some holster wear that didn't hurt the price at all. I'd love to have 3 or 4 to sell right now...

I have a thing for Colt snub-nose .38's. Own a Diamondback, Detective Special and Cobra. I believe they are for shooting and mine are more accurate than any J-frame I've ever shot.

^^^^^ Agree. Years ago while going through LEO training, a fellow officer had a Colt Official Police. My issue was an S&W Model 10. My buddy would score near 'possibles' with his and I was always just behind him in score. Low 90's on the PPC course. We swapped guns for kicks. Shot two possibles in a row with his. I immediately returned my issue gun and bought a Colt Official Police. Have many more S&W's now but that Official Police and the Python are by far the more accurate for me. I believe it's mostly the fit of the guns to my relatively smaller hands.

IIRC Pachmayr made 2 sizes of grips for the Python. The larger better for me than the smaller.
But I prefer Hogues to Pachs.
Pops gave me one of his Pythons, the old E series. Shot a yote on the run and later a small 8 point and figured that was good enough. Gave him his old gun back.
Like a Python, grew up shooting 'em. But for all around usage a 6" Smith 686 is good enough for me.
Guys at work have some unfired Pythons, from way back and some bought right before things got stoopid. They have nice collections of "new" stuff. That's fine, maybe even cool.
I like using my stuff.
Maybe a 6" stainless Python at some point. Not a priority.

1 Python and 3 Diamondbacks. All have been shot. If I'd of only known I'd own a bunch more and some would not have been shot. Woulda, shoulda, coulda.
