After years of struggling with a run down rental and an assorted cast of transient neighbors, I finally had the opportunity to buy the adjoining 6 Acres next to my homestead!

I took a walk on it the other day and discovered what I think are blueberry bushes along the wood line. They are everywhere under mostly oak trees right along the field Edge. Almost like someone planted them as border, but I doubt it.

Am I correct in presuming that these are blueberries?

yes.

let them turn blue.

Then eat them.

all this is assuming the deer don't eat them first.

Yup, blueberries. Just put 10 gallons in the freezer and have many left..

I'd love to raise some but our soil and ditch water are too alkaline. They won't grow at all here.

Be careful you don't eat too many. They gave the same effect on humans as they do on bears and it ain't purty.
