It is as perfect as described, and you will not find a better person to deal with.

Beautiful rifle. I have a Battue in 308; pretty similar. Short of muzzle blast, these short rifles are just the handiest (hence the name) to carry and shoot.

Drop to $1375 shipped, and will sweeten the pot with 2 boxes of factory ammo. You won't be disappointed in this one. Otherwise I might just have to use it this year for what it was meant for!

I've shot one of those Sako AV Carbines in .375 H&H at the range. It sure was a dream to carry, and it pointed like a nice shotgun! I always use good hearing protection at the range, so I didn't think it was much worse to shoot than either my .375 H&H rifles. However, none of them would be my choice for shooting prone! John

I don't think you're off at all; I'm sorely tempted, but have my 308 battue. Maybe it's the mag thing with the short barrel. Seems about the most perfect moose gun I could think of. Why not try posting it here? http://sakocollectors.com/forum/

Sure is tempting, but the 7mm Mag in a 18 1/2" bbl keeps turning me back. Why Sako opted for that combination has me guessing. 7 mm Mag with a 18 1/2' bbl is kinda like putting lipstick on a pig, if you know what I mean.
Beautiful rifle - best of luck with your sale

Thanks for the imput, I may try the sako site also. I thought the barrel length in the 7 might give some pause, but seriously don't see a problem for most use.
