For sure lurking, but figured this one deserved a post! I tried to shoot one of these freaking honey badgers over the last 3 trips and the timing just didn't work out...till this one. Funny story - shooting some night critters looking for a honey badger and on about the 6th night we see him and HER in the middle of a romantic interlude! The PH leans over and says can you see the male, he should be the bigger one...*boom* which one did you shoot which one did you shot? Ummm the one on top, should be the male unless something works different over here in Africa!
Namibia is currently a no go. The MET (Ministry of Environment and Tourism) put a ban on Honey Badgers, Civets, Aardwolf and several other "night creatures" a few weeks ago. Spotted Hyena is still possible on a case by case advanced special permit request.
I shot mine on my first safari in Zimbabwe in broad daylight. I know a booking agent that has been on 14 safaris from the Cape to Tanzania and has never been able to get one. His last two trips to Namibia he has actually set over bait for them almost every night.

Know fat, know flavor. No fat, no flavor.
I tried going vegan, but then realized it was a big missed steak.
Robert Ruark, in his book "The Honey Badger' equated them with women, He said that they "go for the balls." You divorced guys will relate. Can you imagine what the bush would be like if the Honey Badger or a wolverine, for that matter, weighed 100 pounds? life could be very interesting.

That badger is more smart then at least a dozen posters I can think of on this website.
