I use both flat base and boat tail 165 hornady in my 30-06 always have good exits shot a small buck at 10 yds in a creek underneath me a couple years bullet entered between the shoulder blades and exited out the sternum his heart and both lungs fell out the exit wound.

Good, your cleaning and dressing had to be much less fragmatic than mine. You know, back in the days before spinning turrets, speed helped. In those days I used an early (with genuine McMillan) Fibermark in 7mm WM. Bet that was a cool old gun, I bought one of the then new pacific research classic style stocks for my newly built custom mk-v in 338-378, it sported a 28" stainless Shilen air gauged match barrel, I then began to strive for 3400 fps with the 250 gr Partitions using H-50BMG and AA-8700 powders. IIRC my load wound up around 3385 fps, it was a killer bangstick for sure. ;]

LOL, I had two of those bustards BSA, a blued syn stocked one and a Classicmark II, that was a pretty bish indeed, had bygod top of the line 3.5-10 Louies on both of em. Back in those days, mine was a sporterized m1917 (who woulda thunk) topped with a leupold vari-x 3-9x40. It was my only rifle for a long time... I would have never guessed BSA , no shame there brudda.
