Oh, good grief! Keep the G. The chances of another, affordable, .300 EG coming along later if you still want one are of a magnitude of five times more so than a G in like condition. If you sell the G and keep the EG may a Bird of Paradise fly up your nose!
Remember: the EG is/was an "E"conomyG"
As for needing top-flight glass to "extend shooting time" when hunting- we're only talking a few minutes at either end of the day. Beyond that, around here anyway, you're into illegal shooting time anyway. I have never felt handicapped by taking an aperture-sighted rifle into the deer woods. Ever. Squirrel and varmint rifles are the only guns I automatically think in terms of scopes.
