GG,
Emily is a nice little town, too bad the Bungelow burned down. I recall staying at Tom's resort when I was a kid.
New 2 99's, any recommendation for a fishing resort up your way? The wife and I want to come up for 4-5 days of fishing next summer. We were looking at a place on Savant and another on Minitaki.

I say stay with that clown! He's always showing a pile of walleyes. I've been thinking of that myself Jeff. I've never been to Canada for fishing and I say it's damn time!

Drive to.
I would prefer something more remote and less commercialized if that makes sense. Smaller lakes are okay as are fewer people. We are going there to catch as many fish as possible, not play shuffleboard and sit in a hot tub.
Tom....I've been after my wife to do this for a few years. She went with friends a few years before she and I got together. We spent 4 days in Ely this spring and I think that got her thinking about Canada again. She is now on board for summer of 2017.

Have heard of Donneley's on Minnitaki, but no one I know/have heard of on Savant.

We really ought to put together a campfire drive in or fly in Cannada fishing trip some time.
NODUCK- Thanks for the offer. I wore my self out yesterday. Had to work till close today. Hoping to make some good headway on this tomorrow night after work. I'm down to the main trunk and cleaning up the brush. Gonna finish this on my own. I'm a stubborrn old fart. I started it, I'll finish it.

Hoping all our Minnesota members made it through last night's terrible weather unscathed. Tornados, flooding, roads washed out, trees down and buildings obliterated. We just pulled out of the Brainerd Lakes area last Friday after a great vacation. 'Really concerned about our dear friends at Lake Emily Resort. Might be loading up the truck and making a road trip up there to help out. Hoping to hear from them soon. Thoughts and prayers to all those hit by these terrible storms.

We had about 8" of rain in Pequot Lakes. The ground around us is all sand, so it goes away very quickly. There are some roads under water around Brainerd and the sewage treatment plant in Aitkin may have to shut down tonight or tomorrow due to the Mississippi rising. I haven't heard of any loss of life or the like, but there are some wet basements.
