Played with older model SWFA 10x, wasn't impressed.
Now need scope for 300-1000 yard paper punching on QT 223.
Any advice on fixed 10x over fixed 12x?
The 10x's seem to get rave reviews, not much about the 12x"s.
What gives???

I am running a 10X on my heavy .223 as well an AR10, and 300WM. This is the best FOV and still enough to see. I have the MOA/Mil Dot version as well the MOA/MOA models. Let me know if you have any questions, but the things are solid!
Good Shooting!

I've got 10X and 12X in the Milquad models.
They are both easy to like. The reticles are fine enough to both easily bisect a 1 MOA aim point.
For all around, I'd choose the 10X for the slightly better FOV and brightness.
For a dedicated paper puncher, the 12X might be a little nicer.
I put the 12X on a couple of heavier dedicated long range rigs, and the 10X on a more all-around type of mid-weight 308.
Pretty hard to go wrong with either.

My 10X and 12X MQ's have the same 43 mils total erector travel.

Hi Shane. I agree. Mine is going on a heavy barreled 700 in 243 with a McMillan A3. It is pretty much a toy paper puncher only. Not for matches or for hunting....

I'm torn on what to do with a 3-9x42MQ scope. Got a 6MQ now on a 22LR. My 243 has a 4-12x Vortex and the 7mmRM has a 3-9x40 Zeiss Conquest. I'm not a turrent twister, mostly because I don't need to, based on ranges that I hunt, so feel that the Conquest is plenty. Currently the 243 is range gin, so not sure if the SWFA 3-9MQ would do it justice. (it is a better scope than the Vortex for sure), or get a 10x or 12x for the 243 and be done. Hoping to use the 243 for hunting at some point, so the 3-9 (or current 4-12) has its appeal. Maybe QD rings?

Greg, I believe there is a SWFA sale going on. May be a good time to get one.
