Keep the pre64 FWT in 270. You'll never regret that.
Pair it with the Montana in 7-08. You're set at that point.

Huntsonora: On the rare occasions that I trade or even rarer, SELL, a pre-64 Winchester I do so one at a time and I make sure I get the GOOD end of the deal.
Your arms are valuable so don't "give" them away IF you do sell them at all.
Personally, I would keep them and add to them.
And, personally, I would NOT shoot them if you are interested in maximizing their future worth.
Get rid of your OTHER "stuff".
Best of luck what ever you decide.

Well. Couldn't contain myself. The sweet little p64 264 is now in my hands. and it is just as Drummond advertised. Actually, it's a little too nice for me. I'm more of a shooter than a collector. So I prefer to find them with a few scratches and maybe an aftermarket pad.

But this one will get hunted, just hunted very gently.

My plan is to use 4350 to push 125 PT's to about 3000fps, which the 264 can obviously do without breaking a sweat. That should put it right in between the 130gr 270 and the 120gr 25/06...just abut perfection for south Texas deer. without too much bark from the 22" barrel.

Thanks, Drummond for lightening my wallet. smile

I am really happy that you like it! I'm also happy that it found the right home. If for any reason you find it's not the right rifle for you just let me know and I'll send you a refund

Thanks for everything and please enjoy it and send pictures when you tip something over
